London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is the first of many new initiatives being introduced across the UK, designed to tackle the growing concerns over global warming and our nation’s increasing awareness over our carbon emissions. With its introduction, cars, vans, lorries and busses that don’t meet the proposed standards will be charged according to the weight of their vehicle. These charges are either £12.50 for cars, motorcycles and vans that weigh up to (and include) 3.5 tonnes, while heavier vehicles such as lorries and buses/coaches can be charged up to £100 upon entry into an Ultra Low Emission Zone, depending on their weight.
Brought in to combat traffic pollution, the new ULEZ encourages commuters to find alternatives to travelling into the city with personally owned vehicles. Mobilleo can help commuters find other travel alternatives, empowering users to choose from several modes of transport based on their priorities/preferences.
If you are conscious of your environmental impact and wish to choose methods of travel that are more beneficial to the environment, Mobilleo’s Smart Search feature provides you with estimated CO2 emissions from each option you choose. This helps users to make their travel choice dependent on which has the lowest carbon footprint.
