Leading multi-platform technology company FOD Mobility Group has appointed Penny Healy as Product Director in charge of developing its leading MaaS application, Mobilleo.

Penny brings more than ten years of experience to the business, having previously held various senior management positions in the travel sector. In her new role as Mobilleo Product Director she will be developing and owning the product roadmap for Mobilleo, establishing priorities for the product development teams, and working closely with the sales teams to manage workflows.

During her previous role as Senior App Product Manager at easyJet, Penny introduced various optimisation improvements and innovations that led to a 40% year-over-year increase in app revenue. The easyjet app also won international awards at the World Aviation Festival in 2019, World Travel Tech Awards in 2021, and was recognised in Which? Magazine for unrivalled airline app accessibility.

Penny’s appointment coincides with a period of rapid growth for FOD Mobility Group, which includes a significant recruitment drive, and the recent launch of new offices in Ireland and Germany, with further office locations due to be opened throughout Europe over the next 12 months.

The key initiatives planned for Mobilleo include a rebuild of the native app from the ground up to expand the existing functionality of the platform. Penny’s expertise in developing apps on an international scale will be vital as the business expands into new territories and enhances the existing capabilities of Mobilleo.

Penny commented: “I was approached about the position by FOD’s Chief Technology Officer Simon Lamkin, who I’d previously worked with at easyjet. I could see that he was genuinely passionate about the company, and the Product Director opportunity sounded like the perfect fit for my skills, experience, and personality.

“Since I joined the business, I’ve discovered such a warm and welcoming team, made up of truly authentic people who believe in the company and its direction. It’s a privilege to be part of something with such growth potential and great leadership and I’m thrilled to be part of the FOD journey.”

Justin Whitston, CEO and Founder at FOD Mobility Group, added: “I am delighted to welcome Penny into this exciting new role where she will be defining the strategic vision and product roadmap for Mobilleo. Penny’s background in developing customer centric apps will be fundamental to the future development and internationalisation of the platform.”

Mobilleo offers users instant access to thousands of global travel providers in one app with the ability to compare, book, and pay for their travel in seconds. The technology can be configured to suit the different policies and mobility requirements of any corporate business, which includes saving costs by consolidating travel booking and expenses, alternatives to company cars, enhancing employee benefit programmes, improving CSR policies, or driving total cost of mobility intelligence company-wide.

Mobilleo is also used by public authorities to power ground-breaking urban and rural MaaS projects that help to reduce congestion, improve air quality, and promote healthier lifestyles by encouraging people to leave their cars at home and use shared and active travel options instead. These projects include Derby City Council’s Future Transport Zone (FTZ) funded DerbyGo app, Transport Scotland’s Go-Hi app, and a similar bespoke MaaS platform for Milton Keynes City Council.
